    dan addict

i have over 4 years in recovery and ive been doing some thinking with the recent laws on medical marijuana i was wondering if you had the alternative to switch from perscribed medication for mental illness and pain would you consider the switch to be a relapse. i remember talking to my grand sponsor a few years back before i had surgery if he would consider the use of morphine as a relapse and he siad no if it was medically necessary. but i dont know if i would consider if prescribed pot would count in that sense.

The problem I would have with that chonsey, is the fact that I have often used pot for "recreational" purposes, and it has always led me back to the drug of my choice... booze. The fact that it may be prescribed does not change the nature of my addiction, So before I could consider pot as an alternative treatment, I would have to be honest with myself as to why I would really want to use it. To Thine own self be true.
